October Heat Wave?

Exposed legs and sandals in October? Yes, thank the 80 degree weather gods. I feel like October’s becoming one of the most unpredictable months in the Northeast — remember Snowpocalyse a few years back? I mean, I’m not complaining about this, since it doesn’t come with the dreaded humidity that has me swimming in my own sweat.

This outfit is definitely throwing it back to summer, but who cares, right? Winter is coming so I’m taking full advantage of these warm rays.

Cool for the Summer

Spring is still trying to find itself this year in D.C. First, it felt like fall, then the cool rain clouds rolled in, and now the heat is borderline sweltering, but I totally will take summer over the its other two moods. It’s been consistently in the upper 70s and 80s so I decided to keep it light, both fabric and color-wise, this past weekend.

This tunic top from Zara with a slight gold and silver shimmer is gorgeous and can be dressed down or up. If you’re tall like me (I’m 5’9′) and looking for something structured, yet flowing, it’s definitely the way to go!

I paired it with lightweight pants from a coordinated set that I got from Lulus last year, but white capris shouldn’t be too hard to come by this time of year.

Coming Out Strong

This snow day has me feeling productive so here are some outfit shots that I’ve been sitting on the past few weeks!

Long vests have been having their moment and as a tall girl, the longer the better for me. This vest from — makes me feel like a superhero, is super warm, and can be work long or short — that’s a triple win in my book. I paired it with some all black basics and silver statement heels for a sleek and powerful look.
