3.5 Ways to Wear a Poncho

Ponchos! I grew up with a mom and grandma who would wear dark ones to stun on the fabulous side whenever they were going to events, while I wear them now for a more boho feel. Ponchos are super versatile – they can be worn as outerwear, as a top, or even as a scarf. AND they look good on everyone, so what’s stopping you from falling head over heals in love with one this autumn?! I’ll show you a few ways that I wear mine:

  1. Asymmetrical Over-the-Shoulder

Drape the poncho over your shoulders as you normally would, then grab one side and drape it over the opposite shoulder for an effortless, yet chic look.

  2. Belt-It

This is where the .5 comes in since I like to belt my poncho two different ways. The first is to belt the whole thing. Grab your favorite waist belt and go!IMG_7386 IMG_7389IMG_7390The second is to belt the front half of the poncho for a cape-like look. Superwoman, anyone?

  3. Scarf
Yes, most ponchos can be folded into a scarf and it’s amazing. For this one, I would suggest playing around with how you fold your poncho for a bit. Mine has fringe so I made sure that it was lined up so that most of the fringe would hang at the ends when I wrapped the poncho around as a scarf.IMG_7528IMG_7533

All in the Details

I’m such a sucker for unique twists on anything and everything, this bag and jumpsuit are no exception. You wear clothes every day (unless you’re part of a nudist colony or work from home naked), so why not make sure that they’re fun?! I was lucky to find this beautiful jumpsuit with crochet and pompom details on sale while walking around the city a few weeks ago. I paired it with the most colorful purse I own for instant happy vibes.

Goodbye Summer & Hello Taste Treaty

Welcome to Taste Treaty! I’m excited to start this blog and give you a peek into my favorite personal looks and DIY projects.

Here in New York summer is unfortunately coming to an end, but that’s no reason to not make these dwindling warm days as colorful as possible! I combined a solid coral top with a patterned midi skirt and colorblock stack heels to create this fun yet polished look.

I’ll be reluctantly transitioning into fall soon so keep an eye out for future posts!
