If you know me, you know that I have a pretty strong attraction to color. Bright colors instantly perk me up and, frankly, make my pretty mundane routine days much less boring. I think a lot of times people shy away from color, especially at work, because they don’t know how to wear it. Here’s the key: it’s all about balance. In this look, my bright red sweater and jacket are evened out with navy pants and nude pumps. And, as you can see, the fun didn’t just stop at the color. The pants have an awesome fringe-pattern texture and the patent faux leather on the shoes adds a bit of shine to the color-blocking.
So where to find fun affordable work-appropriate duds? Come H&M to the rescue. We drifted apart over the years, but our love has suddenly rekindled. After years of having it as one of my go-to staple stores, I went through a dry spell where I would find nothing that I liked. Not sure what was going on, but everything felt uninspired and low quality. However, lately, the styles have been feeling fresher. This outfit is all H&M minus the shoes, and, no, this is not a paid post.
